Squanto helped the first settlers at Plymouth with myriad things regarding surviving their first bitter winters in the Americas. When Squanto gave the Pilgrims the 411 on corn, their whole world changed. With his help, the Pilgrims planted 20 acres of corn that kept them alive when all else failed. Corn was a good source of nutrients that were lacking for the Pilgrims, and without it, many more would have died.
Squanto is a hero to many corn enthusiasts around the world.
